Welcome to Vihta Sauna

Experience the timeless Nordic tradition of wood-fired sauna on the shores of Lake Sammamish.
At Vihta Sauna, we bring together nature, heat, and water for a truly rejuvenating escape. Step inside our hand-crafted mobile sauna and feel the soothing warmth of natural wood fire, the calming scent of cedar, and let the steam wash away the week. When you’re ready, step outside into the fresh lakeside air or plunge into the cool water — a ritual as old as the sauna itself.
Our sauna is powered by a Kuuma wood-fired stove, renowned for its craftsmanship and exceptional heat. Our sauna stones are hand-selected in Paradise Valley, just beyond Yellowstone National Park. Naturally paramagnetic and formed by ancient volcanic heat, they hold warmth deeply and release it slowly — creating a steady, gentle heat and a rich, soothing löyly with every pour.
In Finnish culture, the spirit of the sauna is called löyly — the soft steam and wave of heat that rises when water is gently poured over hot stones. You are welcome to add löyly during your session; we simply ask that you check with fellow guests first to ensure everyone enjoys the experience harmoniously.
