Vasa Park Admission (May–October)

Vihta Sauna is located inside Vasa Park Resort. From May through October, Vasa Park charges a separate admission fee for all visitors entering the property. This fee is not included in your sauna booking and is collected by the park.
From November through April, no park admission fee is required.

Question 2

What should I bring to my session?

Please bring the following items to your session:

Bathing attire
Flip-flops or sandals
Two towels (one for sitting and one for drying off afterward)
Water bottle. A water refill station is available on site, however, we recommend arriving fully prepared.

Where should I park?

Sauna Rules & Etiquette

Accepted Answer

No shoes inside the sauna
Rinse your feet (if sandy) before entering the sauna
Always sit on a towel (required for hygiene)
Water only (no glass containers, food, or oils inside)
Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, or recreational substances beforehand
Respect fellow guests and the shared quiet atmosphere
You may add water to the rocks (please check with others first and pour small amounts at a time)
Listen to your body: if you feel dizzy or unwell, exit immediately.
Hydrate and take breaks; cold plunge is optional

Do you have showers on site?

While we do not have private showers directly inside the sauna area, guests do have access to showers located in the Vasa Park restrooms. There is one shower available in each restroom, plus an additional shower in the family restroom. Many guests also enjoy cooling off with a refreshing dip in Lake Sammamish between sauna rounds - a core part of the Nordic sauna tradition and one of the most unique parts of the experience at Vihta Sauna.

What are the temperature ranges?

The heating power of our American-made Kuuma wood-burning stove delivers an unparalleled sauna experience, with temperatures typically ranging from 160°F to over 200°F. This creates an authentic, deeply penetrating heat that defines traditional Finnish sauna culture.

How long should I stay in the sauna?

We suggest 10–15 minutes per session, with breaks in between. Total sauna time should not exceed 30–45 minutes for most people.

Yes, we highly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time slot.

Do you offer group or private bookings?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can reserve a private sauna session or book for a small group of up to 10 guests. Perfect for events or wellness retreats. We recommend inquiring 1-2 weeks ahead. Please refer to our Private Sauna session.

Can I request a group or private bookings outside of regular hours?

Absolutely. We’re happy to accommodate requests outside our standard schedule. Please email info@vihtasauna.co to share your preferred time, and we’ll do our best to make arrangements.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Social Sauna Sessions
We do not offer refunds for any bookings. However, social sauna sessions may be rescheduled up to 48 hours before your scheduled start time, subject to availability.

Private Sauna Sessions
All private sauna bookings are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. Please be sure to confirm your date and time before completing your reservation.

Question 13

Are minors allowed in the sauna?

Yes. School-aged children are welcome to join the sauna. A separate Minor Waiver is required for each child and must be signed on-site by a parent or legal guardian before entering. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to complete the waiver.
